Chinese New Year Event 2006 will take place on Sunday 29th January 2006, and once again will be held in the Hove Town  Hall, with the Mayor of Brighton & Hove and a senior representative from the Chinese Embassy in attendance. The numbers of  individuals attending this event has grown, with over 2000 people attending in 2005. We are expecting the numbers attending  the 2006 Event to comfortably exceed this. Expected attendees will be of all ages from different backgrounds of the society.  This event will contain two parts: stage performance and exhibition area. The stage performance, which is approximately 2.5  hours long, will be presented by the CEDP Art Group and its partnership art groups and some other active institutions and  organizations. The exhibition will last the whole day in the same main hall. The exhibition is to provide an informal setting in  which both individual members of the Chinese community and the exhibitors can come together to address and overcome the  cultural barriers that often deter effective interaction or the taking up of pre-existing local (educational, training or employment)  opportunities.
