Started in the year of 2005, "Experience in China" is a project of the CEDP Chinese Centre for summer activity in China, which works to create good relation and experience for selected English volunteers to teach English in Chinese schools during the summer. This summer programme plays an important role in giving volunteers opportunities to understand real China and support local students and English teachers. The emphasis of the programme is on UK teachers and Chinese students learning more about each other's culture through the medium of education and play.
More than 60 selected university students from all over the country were sent to China in the past few years. Areas of the schools in China included Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Guilin, Qing Dao, Nanning etc. They enjoyed teaching English as well as taking part in all kinds of English related activities. All of our volunteers worked very hard and did a great job. They made the Chinese students and teachers impressed. The local TV stations, radio stations as well as the newspaper reported this project positively. Our lovely volunteers also had lots of good memories in China and make many good friends there.
