3) Chinese Language and Arts Program in 2008
The Aim
The aim of the “Chinese Language and Arts Program” is to to give people who are interested in studying “Chinese Language and Traditional Chinese Arts” in a summer school environment in China, the best, and most memorable learning experience possible. Meanwhile, Chinese students in China may learn some English and at the same time have some fun with the candidates who come here to learn. With that in mind, UKIEA is actively recruiting any foreign applicants who want to learn and study in a Chinese summer school. The focus of the program is on middle school and university level students learning more about each Chinese culture, through the medium of education, friendship, and play.
From this program, the candidates may study and live in a 100% pure Chinese environment, and be introduced to, and study, Chinese traditional arts, and at the same time improve their Chinese language ability, as well as have opportunities to make new friends all around the world.

learn traditional Chinese arts, for example, Chinese Gongfu, traditional dance, music and sports; travel to some special travel destinations in and around the localities.

Sometimes and/or at weekends: visit local enterprises, travel to local travel spots.
Applicant’s Should
- be aged up to 13
- be interested in Chinese language and arts
- be available for a four-week period in March-April, July-August, September-October

Introduction of Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
Characterized by marvelous seaside scenery and full-bodied ethical customs, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is blessed with colorful resources and is an imposing region for sightseeing, is situated in the southern part of China. Guangxi is Ethnic Minority Group, people in Guangxi are multinational, and the total population is about 45 million.
Nanning, the green bright pearl in China, is the capital of Guangxi Province. rainy, warm and wet. It is fit for traveling all year round. July is the warmest and average temperature is 23 C to 29 C. If you want to enjoy the fabulous natural scenery, visit the numerous cultural and historic sites and taste the traditional customs, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is your best choice. There you will see unique traditional handicrafts: brocades of Zhuang minority, embroideries of Yao Minority and colorful shell carvings.
Introduction of Shandong
Shandong Province is situated in the eastern part of China on the lower reaches of the Yellow River. Shandong, with a history of more than 5,000 years, is considered one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization. Shandong has also been the home of a large number of historical figures, whose important influences are still evident in contemporary China. Confucianism, founded by Confucius, the great thinker, educator and statesman in China is the pillar of traditional Chinese culture and has exerted great influence in the world.
Jinan, Shandong's provincial capital is one of China's most famous historical and cultural cities. It has numerous natural springs, hence its name 'Spring City'.
Shandong Province is also considered the birthplace of China's pottery, porcelain and silk. Throughout the province the tourist can find traditional items like the clocks and watches of Yantai, the porcelain of Zibo, the kites of Weifang, the shell-carving and beer of Qingdao.
